Abstract
Myopic strabismus fixus, also called as ¡®Heavy eye syndrome¡¯ is a rare strabismus disorder characterized by high myopia and progressive eso- & hypotropia. Typically, this disease may progress over several years, from a small degree of esotropia to the large angle fixed eso- & hypotropia. Several hypotheses have been proposed as the underlying mechanism, such as an instability of pulley or an enlarged globe herniating superotemporally through the muscle cone. We report a patient who presented with an intermittent strabismus as the initial manifestation of myopic strabismus fixus.
